New pickled vegetables brand scared me today:)

I wanted to take pickles but they weren't on sale so i opted for a pickled mixed salad which consists of pickled cabbage, pickled tomato and pickled carrot. I usually take a store's brand but when i saw this one that was cheaper, i wanted to try it. I had my pickled mixed salad with my baked fish and mashed potato for lunch and when i opened it, i used my spoon and realised i couldn't take a salad from the jar. It was stuck. For a second, i thought it was frozen. It really did then, i saw a plastic circle thing that holds pickled stuff together. This is my first time seeing that, bought from the store and not home-made. All other brands don't use it. Salad isn't that bad but store's brand salad is better and there are no suprises like this one. Which of the food made you scared recently?
