Thanks to the teamwork of the Clinton Connecticut Police Department and the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department, they saved a person who was in the Hammonasset River on Tuesday morning. A police officer threw a rope to the person who was in the river before the firefighters and Riverbend Marina staff assisted the police officer to get the person out of the river and have the person taken to the shore. The person who was rescued was taken to a local hospital by an ambulance to be evaluated by the medical personnel. What caused the person to jump into the Hammonasset River is not known at this time. I hope that it was not a case of wanting to end their life. Link is msn.com/en-us/news/us/...

I would wonder what would cause a man to jump into what was probably a frigid river.

At least the Police Officer did not have to jump into the river. The man must have wanted to be rescued, as he did grasp the rope, and so could be pulled out.

I was wondering what would be important enough to go jumping into a cold river + rescuing a pet perhaps. I hope he wasn't trying to drown himself And if he was I hope he gets the help he needs
