Another day off tomorrow

One of the reports I saw said that we got 9 inches of snow. People in the north like North Dakota or Minnesota might laughed at that but we can't handle that around here. No school today. Okay fine. I was expecting a delayed opening but not another closure. No school tomorrow. So snow we have 2 more days added in June. I don't understand why we can do virtual days for Election days but not for snow days. What the hell is the difference? Oh well I'll get to sleep in (maybe) and have a relaxing day. I'd rather just be at work or doing it virtually to save my summer.

Well, the positive side of it all is you do get tomorrow off, but I understand not wanting to have to make the days up later. Does your district not allow for a certain number of snow days? Just curious.

@NJChicaa I watched weather earlier, it looks as if you could possibly get another storm next weekend. I am sure we aren't done with winter weather yet, it's still January.

They build a certain number of snow days into our calendar. We get paid for the snow days. I imagine we will be back at school tomorrow, but it may be a late start.

Apparently 9 inches of snow is a national emergency, but voting online is fine

I was lucky (in this sense) to go to a private school where we weren’t subject to add days to the school calendar like public schools were. So, if we had snow days, it didn’t matter; we’d still get out on the same day in May (our school was August - May). It doesn’t seem right to me either that you can’t just do it virtually. Why make you prolong school in June, prime summer time.

Hopefully you guys don't get too much more snow. Either way, hope you enjoy another day off.

I wonder if they have some kind of contractual obligation that they HAVE to be “out” so many days for sn*w. I know that sounds ridiculous but I could see it!

They don't add days at the end of term here if schools are closed in the winter. What happens if everything was shut for 10 days, would they add 10 days on in June
