I did not make it all the way down to the street. There was a hard crunchy coating on the snow due to all the freezing rain..and it was a good six inches or maybe more. I had a broom with me and ended up using it like a walking stick. I did make it to the car though and let it run for awhile I did not want to push my luck by going all the way to the road. At least there are tracks to the car now. It started up without a problem..The good thing is that I drove it forward a few feet, and it didn't seem to have any problem moving. Tomorrow I will venture further and maybe drive a bit more.do some shoveling if needed, but I am gonna make Weds. My great escape. I have everything I need here until at least then. Have you been out since the storm?

I opened my front door, ran like a nincompoop to the front of my floor, and looked over the railing to see if the sideways were cleared by management. Then I scooted right back indoors. Wednesday is when I have to get out, so I imagine I’ll stay inside until then.
And no, the sidewalks were not cleared. All the snow is way taller than Sadie.

@MarieCoyle I actually just went outside, although it was not cleared, a couple of people had been out, so I stepped in their steps to get to my car and get Friday’s mail. I bundled Sadie up, and carried her with me. She was happy to be out.

We have hunkered down. Have to go out tomorrow for son's appointment. I am glad your car started fine in all of this cold, and that you didn't fall! It's good that you had the broom to help you walk.
At this point, I am even dreading rolling the trash can out to the curb for pick up tomorrow morning--if they actually show up, when it's super slippery sometimes they run behind.

You should get yourself some of those crampons. My mother had them The mailman usually brings the mail up when the weather is bad, but she uses those if she has to walk to the box. It's not far though. The mailbox here is about 50 yards from the house.

Here where I live, there are two options for us for mail delivery. It can be delivered to a box by my front door, or it can be delivered to a locked box in the office building that residents can access if that's what they choose. Since there are often times I am not home, I opt for using that as it's locked and there is also a place for any packages to be locked up, with the key to the box they would put my package in, and like I said, no one else can access my stuff at the office building. For now, I am sticking to that. The people here that opt for the front door mailbox thing seem to have even worse problems with the mail service than I do!

@LadyDuck That;s good I guess, I would rather have snow than a cold rain though. That is yuk.

We haven't. We only had a little bit of snow, sleet and now ice.

I picked my daughter up and her boyfriend and their friend to come to my house for a bit. They played in the snow with my little one, ate cookies that I made and had some hot cocoa. It’s about a half mile drive from my house to hers so not far

We live to far from the storm area and were hot all weekend. It'll be cold for the next two weeks. I'm talking hard freezes at night.

Glad the car started easy. I keep going out as I can't convince those critters to live on air
