This News Story Really Struck Me

It is the story of a 72-year- old Texas resident named Lydia West. It was her usual routine to go feed the geese at the nearby park. But this time a flock of geese attacked her. She had fallen hard and it resulted in a broken pelvis and internal bleeding. The geese continued their attack on her and it was horrifying. This story reminded me of a time back in the mid 80s when I was working the night shift at a convenience store. I would get off work about 8a. and go to the park with a bag of stale popcorn to feed the geese. I would get a nice walk around the pond and then go home to bed. There was one rather rumbunctious goose that would come at me occasionally but never really attacked. I guess I was lucky. I do hope this lady heals and is okay after such a happening in her life.

Geese have attacked people here, I wouldn't go any where near them. No idea why they are like that. Was the woman who was attacked able to recover ok? I think I will stick to feeding the Seagull who visits our garden, he is a good friendly boy

Turkey? Really? Interesting. There is a flock of turkeys that wander around our neighborhood. Never hurt anyone that I know of.

@celticeagle Roosters, chickens, ducks, turkeys, they all grow to maturity and yup, get aggressive sometimes. I loved raising turkeys but was wary of the guy turks. Male adult ducks will kill goslings.

Geese can be very aggressive. Especially during hatching and baby raising

Poor woman. I am not fond of geese. They are territorial and stretch their necks like huge snakes.

How horrible. Usually they will attack if they have a nest or goslings.
