Do you prefer telehealth?

I have a doctor appointment today, but because of the weather, it is telehealth. Which doesn’t bother me because it is pain management. If I were going for a current physical problem I’d feel differently. But usually, the only telehealth I ever get is for test results. Then I’m given the option of telehealth. Do any of you prefer telehealth? I think depending on telehealth a lot is dangerous because nothing is a substitute for seeing the whole person. Once in a while surely can’t hurt though.

@ambiepam I don’t trust it, but nor do I like being poked and prodded in a face to face appointment.

@AmbiePam I’m taking a break for a while - nothing really worthwhile to write about. Thanks for noticing my absence.

I don't trust telehealth. I feel more safe and secure if the doctor has examined me in person. I have tried telehealth a couple of times. And mainly it was to discuss the test reports after the doctor had examined me in person and prescribed some test. In such situations, it is convenient as it saves one from the hassles of commuting to doctor's office and waiting there.

It depends on what it’s for. I have a telehealth appointment next week. It’s my therapist (mental health), so OF COURSE it’s perfect! I wouldn’t have objected to a telehealth GI appointment last week (I had to cancel the appointment because I had covid). There are some things, though, that just can’t be handled via video conference with the doctor.

We do not have telehealth here. We always see our doctor in person, if we are too sick to go there, the doctor comes to see us at home.

It would be hard, but not impossible, to get a doctor to come to the home. Too many patients to see, usually. There are a few doctors who will do it though.

I hate going to the doctor, so I love telehealth. I might have to go to the real doctor in March though.

Sometimes I would rather be face-to-face, but one of my regular appointments is via telehealth. I don't think that the doctor I see in that case is even in California, so that's convenient for me!

I've had a few telehealth appointments and they went well. Of course it isn't the same as an "in person" but a good alternative. The few telehealth appointments I had were for wellness visits with my doctor and nothing that really needed an "in person" visit. I'm glad we have the option

I LOVE TeleHealth. I wish more of my appointments were like that.
