Last Monday I had my last shift at BKCC. And I was very emotional as it has been my home for more than 3 years and I must say, one of my most favourite job so far. The longest I have stayed in one place. More than the job, I would miss the lovely people that became my family along the way. I have been so lucky to have colleagues that care for each other and not just the patients. I have been well fed and spoilt during my stay at Bath. There is always someone to offer me food when all I could manage is boiled eggs when I am too lazy too cook. Shout out to my Bath Kidney Care for taking care of me and making me grow as a nurse and as a human being. Dialysis Nurse Meow Signing Off. Chilling for a few days before starting a different challenge.

Why are you leaving if you like it so much? Good jobs don't grow on trees. I have had to learn that the hard way in my life. i wish you luck in your future endeavors.

My husband has been commuting from London to Bath for 2 years to make it work. But it has come to the point that he is too exhausted to do so and 6 hr commute a day is not really healthy for our relationship and his body. He gets paid 4x my salary so it is I think more practical for us to relocate to London than stay in Bath.

@flapiz Gosh is it already 2 years since you were married? It seems like just a couple of weeks! Congratulations! Do you have a new job in London? I hope it will also work out well.

It must be hard to leave such a workplace. Where will you be working in the future?

I am planning to take 1 month off. Just to recalibrate and shake the stress away and then I am hoping to find a part time job or something work from home or hybrid.

How bittersweet. It sounds like a wonderful place to have worked, and that you fit right in.

I did love the people I work with. It was really hard work but it felt so much like family.

I was actually surprised how much I cried. It was a difficult job. 2 carpal tunnel surgeries in a span of a year to show for it. But I did love the people and doing something that makes a difference. But my body is thankful for a break.

I pray and hope for the same. I do value being included and part of a group specially since I am an immigrant.
