Have you been behind the guy buying lottery tickets?

I know I have joked about this many times, but it just happened to me again. All I wanted was a small bottle of Scotch, so I could have some with my yogurt, and live to be 107. The fella in front of me had a six-pack of beer, and I thought I was safe. Then it happened. "I'll have one Number 17, and three Number 6. Wait. Two Number 6 and two Number 12. I was glad he was finally done. I shuffled politely, staring at my work boots. "And a Number 3, and a Number 10." I dozed, a Grateful Dead song playing in my head. Eventually, I was able to buy my small bottle. Have you ever been in line behind someone buying Lottery Tickets?

Our stores have kiosks that sell them now, so I rarely see people buying them in line anymore.

I have cousin #2 buying my lottery tickets now. I don't think in the past that I ever got behind someone like that. The problem I had was getting someone to man the window.

You'd go to checkout and nobody was there?

@TheHorse At Giant Eagle you had to constantly look for someone because there was no one behind the counter.

Yes. Most of them will politely step to the side while they scratch their tickets so the line doesn't stop moving... I'm sorry you get caught behind a rude person. I would have asked them to let me reach the register while they scratched their tickets off and gone on about my day.

@TheHorse IF they are scratching tickets off, then they aren't "in the middle of a transaction" anymore. Their transaction is finished and they're just blocking the register.

I cannot ask them to step aside while they are in the middle of a transaction.

What would you do if Vince won a billion dollars? Hey, maybe there's a post there.

@TheHorse I'd buy one son a house and pay off the other one's house for starters.

It happened to me when I stepped inside the store to pay for the fill up of our car. It took 10 minutes before I could pay and get out.

@TheHorse - Some people are annoying, they do as they were alone on this earth.

No I don't go to any store which sells lottery tickets. I avoid lottery tickets I was a gambler a long time ago with a bad addiction I will not risk starting to gamble again
