Have you ever used anyone else's

February 1, 2026 12:37pm CST
Have you ever used anyone else's Toothbrush. We had a visitor stay over on Friday night and I am sure she used my toothbrush It was not in its usual place when I went to clean my teeths at bedtime And when we were in close proximity a bit later on my suspicions were aroused even more Yvonne said she never used my toothbrush, she obviously used her own So it must have been our. visitor. I think I will ask her if she would prefer a soft bristle tooth brush or a firm one so she has one on place.for her next visit. What would you do?

OH, I would buy a new one! Wouldn't want to use the same toothbrush someone else already used.

@Ineeddentures Good decision. We always have spare toothbrush just in case guests come unprepared. And I have my own bathroom in my room so no way for guests to accidentally use my own toothbrush.

@toniganzon Didn't think she was staying overnight But I suppose by the time we were all quite drunk it was bound to happen Then we played truth or dare

Oh my! I would throw the toothbrush immediately. I do not keep our toothbrushes in the "guest" bathroom, better safe than sorry.

@LadyDuck Lol No harm done But I wonder why she didn't think to ask if we had a spare toothbrush.

I think it was ok Anna I haven't developed sores or bursted bleeding gums or had tooth's fall out The brush was well sterilised in proper steriliser fluid If it's good enough for babies, it's good enough for me

I was surprised, but nothing to get freaked out about. The toothbrush was sterilised , and I felt perfectly safe using it.

I'd put my toothbrush away so she can't use it but you might need to put Yvonne's away too. I have a couple of emergency toothbrushes from aircraft kits. I keep those in case someone comes without one.

I have never and would never use anyone else’s toothbrush. I always make sure I take all my ‘ stuff ‘ with me if I’m going away. I have brand new toothbrushes at my house if folk stay unexpectedly ….they can then keep it.

@Traceyjayne She seemed quite immaculate. And Yvonne did say them sterilising fluid would do the job, if there was any job needed doing I didn't even give it much thought

I would put a nice packaged toothbrush on the vanity for her to use.

Once, I almost used Lenny’s toothbrush. I realized it wasn’t mine before I actually put it in my mouth. We used to use exactly the same toothbrushes so it was easy to mix them up.

Oh no that's gross. Here in our house, mom, dad and I keep our toothbrushes in separate places so that we don't mix up.

It was my toothbrush so her using it wouldn't be bad for her lol Her teeth and mouth are lovely so I shouldn't think I would suffer anything I did put my toothbrush in sterilising fluid for an hour or so though
