Wheee! A couple of earthquakes this morning.

As I was waking up this morning, we had a series of small earthquakes. I felt two of them, about half an hour apart. There was no preliminary jolt for either, as there sometimes is here. And neither was strong enough to get my heart beating. Have you experienced earthquakes? I find it funny that the strongest one I can remember was during my year in Indiana.

As far as I can remember, I've never felt an earthquake. I'm glad they weren't strong enough to bother you, though.

@TheHorse That's how I look at tornados. As long as I've got somewhere I can go to feel "safe", even if it really isn't, they don't worry me.

@DaddyEvil They happen. I did not worry about them much when I lived in the Midwest.

A little excitement is OK. But I am glad I missed the "big one" in '89. .

@TheHorse I have watched a few hit down, I wasn't close enough to be in any danger.

I have been in only one tornado. I never saw it, though. We were all in a basement.

If there were any in California when I lived there as a child, I don’t remember. I do remember several in Oklahoma, most within the last 15 years.

Were any of them serious? As in serious enough to get your heart pumping?

@TheHorse No, just a little ground shaking and you knew something had happened

Yes, I have. I believe I've mentioned it before, where a friend with whom I was having lunch accused me of shaking the table. Then there was one a few weeks ago up in Orillia that was felt all the way down to Buffalo, but I didn't feel it here in St Catharines. And, before I forget, did you know we're heading into the year of the fire horse? (Feb 17)

Definitely. Not sure you heard of the earthquake that happened in my country before 2025 ended. It was one of the strongest I experienced in my entire life but fortunately no serious damage in my city. Other cities suffered a huge damage and a number of deaths, it was devastating.

Oh, yes, the 2008 earthquake centered in Illinois was a 5.2. It felt (and sounded!) like a truck hit the side of the house.

I did when I lived in the Dominican Republic, but nothing here in the north east

Did the earth move for you my friend. Do they give earthquakes names, like they do with storms?
