It's a Prank!

Aguust of 2024 when I got my very first reborn baby after months of waiting for it. From shipping from the US to the Ph to my artist, from my reborn artist to me.
When I finally had her in my arms, my joy was inexplicable! The first thing we did though was to send a photo to my MiL, telling her she was a great grandma. Craig, at that time was just 19 and she believed it!
But who wouldn't? Craig was 19 at that time and had introduced a girlfriend to her when she was with us for a short vacation.
We had fooled many people back then.

Oh yes they do. And I told my artist to paint Sophie with a similar skin tone as my son when he was a baby. That's why my MIL was convinced it was Craig's baby because of the skin tone and the features. Very similar to Craig when he was a baby.
Even though my reborn kit is Laura by Bonnie Brown who happens to be from New Zealand, it really looked very similar to Craig.

@noni1959 Yes, I love all the reborn kits from her. But I think her most famous one is Laura.

I'm glad you have your baby, even if MIL was fooled with it.
Years ago, I was dating a woman with a grown son and a younger teen daughter. We decided it would be funny to tell the son that his mom was pregnant and I was the father... I asked him if he'd be comfortable calling me "Dad" 
... 
His mom and I had a lot of fun with it for a couple of weeks before his mom reminded him that she'd had her tubes tied several years before that...
Oh, MAN! He wasn't a happy camper for a week or so after we told him we were just teasing!

That took a lot of time to recover.

@DaddyEvil Her sister liked my Sophie a lot and she wanted to borrow it for a week but her boyfriend didn't want her to. I was willing to lend her Sophie but unfortunately her boyfriend was very stern on not having Sophie for a week. I guess he was a bit scarf of it.

Yes you would. Especially if it's just a photo. Some artists are using AI to make their reborn babies look like they're moving in a video. They're too cute.

It's fun to play on jokes with people we are familiar with. I stay away from doing that to strangers coz I don't know how they'd take it.
