Have you ever felt sad but you couldn't cry?

In a public transportation, you can't permit yourself and when you actually can, when you come home, it's on your chest but you still can't permit yourself too loose up and to let go. It's not the nicest feeling.

I've never been ashamed to cry. I will let it go if I have to, public or not. I know some people have trained themselves to let go when they're alone. I never really could. I never tried.

@valherma00 It actually hurts a person to make themfeel guilty for feeling any kind of negative emotions. When in reality, come to find out, most people don't care what you do in public as long as you're not hurting them. It's actually dangerous to bottle things up.

@kaylachan well, yes and no.in a small tram of 40people,i can transmit negative emotions to other people and they kind of don't deserve that.if i'm walking outside, that's better, cause they can move.but, yes, bottling things up is not healthy.

@valherma00 The point is, those people aren't going to be as bothered as you think they would be. They'd leave you to your own business. And, while they might hear/see you cry for example, they aren't going to care.

No, if I feel the need to cry, I cry no matter where I'm at. Others might watch or they will turn away and give me privacy.

@valherma00 As long as the sunglasses don't make it too dark to see where you're going, wear them anyway, if that helps you.

the last time i cried was when i was forced to leave the last apartment i was in and i was lucky noone was around while i took a walk around neighbourhood buildings but, in a small space like tram and where 40 people are around, i can't. i wish it was sumemr so sunglasses could hide how i feel.

I was never very good at holding back tears. How are you feeling now? Better I hope.

i cried a lot as a child due to small things but for bigger ones, i thought it was always honorable to suffer inside. i taught myself that cause, adults didn't care that much. later, i suffered more but under my sunglasses, a couple of tears had dropped once in a while, small ones, of course and only in summer. my habit of crying was to come home to cry, honestly. after struggling inside today, i cried and i am better, thank you. i had to confess myself that it's not hard to love me, some people just don't know how to love and that i am enough and that i can disappear from people's life if they really hate me that much. also, teaching 3rd grade of mostly rude children is hard too, while teachers colleagues are waiting a chance to say something mean to me or in their own way, they just trying to help out, yeah.

You are right, we have been trained not to show our emotions in public. It's really hard to retain from crying.

@valherma00 - I feel we should be allowed more to be ourselves, cry and laugh as we feel and not have to hide because sentiments are considered "private".

there are days even if i'm not hurt by someone's words or things at work, some switch happens and i feel sad. i know i was staring at the lake, from the outside of the tram and something touched. and when i'm upset or hurt, i really have to hold it in. i hear you and support you. i wish there was an empty door to a little house or cabin where we are not seen and where we can be on ourselves and cry, if we have to.

It's very hard for me not to cry if I want to. Some times I've had to hide it, like at work. It's not good for your body to hold it in, though--emotional tears help carry stress hormones like cortisol out of the body, so it is detoxifying.

@valherma00 I don't know if you have access to therapy, but a lot of people say it is very relaxing and helpful to talk to someone who is a professional. You sound like you already have identified the issue, so maybe they could suggest some practices that would help.

Yes, this has happened to many times. There are still things from my past that I haven't cried about

When something sad happens I will let myself cry. You should express your emotions.

I can't control my crying. If it's coming there is nothing I can do about it.

It’s uncomfortable, and you’re right, it’s not a nice feeling at all.
