I'm lending my coworker her stand mixer

hahahaha yes you read that correctly. Years ago my 6 quart Professional Kitchen Aid stand mixer stopped working. My ex figured out what was wrong with it and ordered some kind of repair kit but in the meantime I was without a working mixer. At the time a coworker lived up the street on the next block. She offered to lend me hers and I took her up on it. I used it until my mixer was fixed. I told her I'd bring hers back and she told me to just keep it because she had never used it and likely never would. (not sure why she put it on her bridal registry then) I was happy to have it as it is a smaller 4 or 5 quart one. Whipping small amounts of heavy cream or egg whites is difficult in my big boy so the smaller one did get used now and then. When my ex and I were going through the house to determine what stuff I would take and what he would keep, well, I basically took everything. He wanted to keep the leather couch, the immersion blender, and the smaller KitchenAid. I understood the first 2 requests but I was floored that he wanted the mixer. I had never seen him use one in the 16 years that we were together. Still the whole thing was amicable so I agreed to leave it with him. Fast forward 6 years and I was asked to be the advisor of the Baking Club. I asked him if he still had the stand KitchenAid and he said yes. He gave it to me to use at school since as I expected he never used it. We used it this week when the students made homemade cinnamon rolls. I posted updates and pictures about it on FB. The coworker who gave me her mixer replied that she's been trying to make them for awhile and hasn't had success. I shared Bravetart's recipe with her and she said she would try it. I told her that the Baking Club would be happy to lend her an orange stand mixer. She must have just looked at the recipe today and saw that the dough has to be kneaded for 25 minutes in a stand mixer. She texted me and asked if she needed a mixer and I responded with "yes that's why the Baking Club offered to lend you your mixer." I told her that if she wanted to make the cinnamon rolls this weekend she was welcome to borrow my KitchenAid. (we live 10 minutes apart) Her response was "I'll borrow my mixer next week and do them next weekend." I find the whole situation hilarious. I am lending her her own stand mixer. (well I guess technically it is mine now) If she gets the baking bug of course I will give it back to her permanently. The life skills classroom already has one and I can always bring mine into work as well. Still this just makes me laugh.

Funny.. How the baking episode goes may help her decide if she will be doing any baking permanently.

I wonder if she'll like it well enough that she'll ask for the mixer permanently? When Pretty was little, I made homemade cinnamon rolls but didn't use a mixer for kneading the dough. I wouldn't try making them now but I do miss eating homemade cinnamon rolls.
