My dog is 16.

It is so hard to see my dog turn old. She has turned white in some places and she sleeps all the time.
One thing she is still very interested in is treats. Treats are now her entire life, so I make sure she has some every day.
Have you lived with an old dog? Any suggestions?

Wow! 16! My Danie is turning 8 in April while her daughter is turning 6. I do wish they'd live a very long and healthy life beaus I cannot imagine life without them.

Your dog looks beautiful in the avatar. She was so cute when she was a puppy.
I am sorry I have no suggestions. I remember that the small dog of my grandparents lived to be very old. She also had turned white in some places and she liked to sleep a lot.

When I was growing up, there were always dogs on our farm. I liked cats better so didn't fool with the dogs often. After I moved into my own place, I noticed I wasn't sick or itchy all the time like I used to be and it turned out I am allergic to furbabies.
Pretty has always wanted a furbaby of some type but I couldn't be around them. (Her mom was always buying some kind of furry pet and bringing it to my house for Pretty. I'd give them away as quickly as I could find somebody who wanted it. When she took me to court for giving away Pretty's pets, I explained I was allergic to furbabies and the judge told her if she wanted Pretty to have a furbaby, she could keep it at her mom's house... )
We have a fish tank with guppies and Corydoras...

@misunderstood_zombie You're a nice person, though...
Pretty will pet and hug the neighbor's cat when she sees them outside and then comes in the house and won't shower until I complain about having an allergic reaction.

I get it. My grandson is allergic to cats so there has never been a question as to cats coming into our house. Though I want a cat, but it will never happen.
