James Van Der Beek has died

He was an actor who was best known for his role as Dawson on the TV series Dawson's Creek. I'm sure he was in lots of things but the only other one that I can name off the top of my head is the movie Varsity Blues. I sometimes watched Dawson's Creek but not religiously like I did with Gilmore Girls or Friends back in those days. He announced last year that he was battling stage 3 colorectal cancer. He released a video on his most recent birthday in which he is obviously drawn and skinny. He spoke about how being a husband and father was way more fulfilling than acting. He also spoke about how he realized he was worthy of God's love and if he was worthy of that then he should be able to love himself too. He was 48 and leaves behind his wife and 6 children. So sad.
