How many names of flowers do you know?

I must humbly confess I don't know many. I don't know everyone of those I see in our flower garden. I do recognise the more common flowers, maybe twelve to fifteen of them. The image I have attached with this discussion is that of " blood marigold". It is known as "rokto genda" in the local language. Do you have any other name for it?

@franxav - Yes, I can see it now, the botanical name of those flowers is Tagetes. I had them in my garden.

@franxav I would be amazed if an Indian did not know that name of the marigold.

I am not very good at identifying flowers by sight, unfortunately. My stepmom though can name just about any flower you see. She’s just that into plants and flowers.

I know a few dozen flower names and can give the scientific names for some of those. Those are blood marigolds to us, too. (Marigolds aren't my favorite plants but my mom loved them.)

My Mum knew the names of lots of flowers and I learnt a lot from her. There are still a great many that I don't know.
