Popular names from my era

I wrote about how Asian names differ from the Anglo-Saxon names I’m more used to. I found Ireland had a lot of names which I’d never heard before.
In our village of around 150 houses, you can tell by the names that we’re all of a certain vintage. There are at least three Judy’s, four Maureen’s, five Barbara’s, five Carol’s, five John’s, seven Michael’s – and so it goes. But there is only one Vincent!

I agree with you. I named my younger daughter for my most loved doll yet in her classroom there were 4 or 5 Claudias. Now it seems that that name is not used anymore but I have seen Almonds and other fruity names lately.

Yes, certain decades had certain popular names. My name was popular in the early 1960's but isn't heard much anymore.
