Valentine's Day may be a day to express love and commitment but for me, now days it's Half Off the Good Stuff Eve. Today I am enjoying shopping for chocolate sales. I am a real chocolate connoisseur. I'm not really into the waxy, lack flavor stuff you get here in the U.S. although I have to put up with it most of the time. (Dove's Caramel Chocolates have become my favorites to date.) But when I can afford it I like to go all out for either See's Candies (their truffles are very good) or something Belgium, German or even Swiss from a site like Goldbelly.
I still remember when I was about 6 or 7 my mom was working and we were living at my grandparent's. She would bring home something new and different food wise quite often. It might be a honeycomb or one time she brought home a Kit-Kat bar. Not the ones you get here in the U.S. but the original before the Rowntree company from Britain was bought out by Hershey's and they changed the recipe. Each bite was a mouthful of heaven. Delicate sandwich with tasty chocolate in between.
Ah, those were the days. Things were made well back then. Now you get very little taste or quality for 10x the price. So I look for sales and a little quality where I can find it.
What's your favorite chocolate?

I do like some of the foreign made chocolates when I can find them but, usually, Reese's chocolates taste fine to me. We can't go today, though. I could see this morning but Pretty didn't want to go then. She wanted to sleep, so I slept, too. Now, my right eye is swelled closed and I can't see very well with my left eye anymore. I won't drive like this. *shrug*

I slept until nearly 1p. today. It felt good. Nothing to wake me up.
Your poor eyes. Gosh I wish there was something that could be done.

@DaddyEvil .......Yes, that is a good way to look at it. No matter how bad things are it seems someone else is even worse.

@celticeagle It's okay. We don't need to leave the house most of the time. But thank you.
The older neighbors woke me up. He's hard of hearing so his wife shouts so he can hear her. (He wears a hearing aid but I've found myself shouting because he still can't hear even when he's wearing it. I don't feel so bad about my eyes when I see him struggling to hear people talking to him. At least I can hear.)

One of mine too. Yes, half-price is a good time to stock up.

Oh, yes. I usually get the kids the chocolate oranges at Christmastime. They enjoy them.

This year's valentine's day my wife and I celebrated it simply by having a dinner at our fave eatery near the public plaza.
