Email turned out to be spam

I saw an email in my inbox with the subject line Photographs. The email supposedly came from my husband’s dad. I found that weird as he never emails me. Plus his first name was shortened. It said Alex instead of Aleksandr. I clicked on the email to see what it was about. The body of the email said: I should've forwarded them to you earlier. But I knew those photographs might make you a little nostalgic. A link for me to click followed. After the link there was more text. It said: “You have to write the book that wants to be written. And if the book will be too difficult for grown-ups, then you write it for children.“ – Madeleine L'Engle His dad would never write me something like this. And the link looked weird so I did not click on it. Not sure what would have happened had I accidentally clicked on it but good thing it didn’t happen. I decided to click in the To field to see the actual email address the email had come from as there was no way it came from his dad. Sure enough it was some bogus email address.

My main Yahoo email seems to get a lot of spam. If I don’t check the spam folder in a while, I have hundreds of emails in there.

I get very few spam emails. My laptop weeds them out and put them into the SPAM folder. I never open that folder.

It’s weird but sometimes spam emails end up in the inbox and legit emails end up in spam

@lovebuglena If legit emails make it into my spam folder, they get deleted.

@DaddyEvil you never check the spam folder to make sure that there are no legit emails that ended up in there before you delete it?

Yeah, my grandson has trained me to check the email it comes from. That is weird. These scammers sure waste a lot of time on their stupid schemes.

Guess they have nothing better to do. Sadly there are people that fall for it.
