Firefighters in Houston Texas answered an emergency call on Monday just after midnight when a fire chief who was on his way home saw an apartment on fire that required the fire chief to make an emergency call for firefighters in the area to put out the fire.
Firefighters arrived quickly to put out the fire when the firefighters rescued a 74 year old woman and a dog that were in the area of the fire.
The woman was treated for smoke inhalation at the area of the apartment fire by the first responders.
The dog was given oxygen mask to breathe by the firefighters. The dog is making a recovery. No firefighters were hurt in the incident.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire which at this time.

I'm glad the firefighters gave the dog oxygen. We tend to forget sometimes that animals have lungs much smaller than ours.

That " house" looks a bit patchwork.
Wouldn't have taken long to burn
Glad the dog was saved

Often it is smoke inhalation that kills people in fires.

I guess firefighters, and fire chiefs, are always on duty, ready to respond to situations like this. Good on them, a good rescue.
