Payback (Noisy Toys)

I remember my grandparents buying my sister and I noisy toys and laughing while my parents good natured, groaned about it. My Nana said it was payback for all the noise her kids made as children. I’ve heard adults say that to their children. When you have kids, I’m getting them loud toys so you know what it feels like. All of this was said with a laugh, but I know it applies to a lot of people. This is a picture of Hudson with a pair of bagpipes. I don’t know who bought them for him (it wasn’t his grandparents), but oh boy, is that payback for any noise my sister and BIL ever made.

Hudson looks so adorable playing those noisy bagpipes. My daughter in law forbid me from buying my grandkids noisy toys, but I didn’t listen to her

Maybe the bagpipes will get mysteriously misplaced.

Hudson looks adorable with those bagpipes! Great to see how these traditions continue, creating smiles through the noise.

My friend said she did that on purpose for her niece and nephew to get back at her brother

It must be universal. I know my sister will tolerate loud toys. What she won’t tolerate is a mess. So I have to run any kind of craft like kit or toy by her first. Personally, I’d rather clean up a mess than head a loud toy. Luckily, with no children, I worry about neither. You know what’s funny? My sister “broke it” to me who would rear their kids if something happened to them. It obviously was not me. She was worried my feelings would be hurt. I was like, I’m not capable of rearing children! Don’t worry about hurting MY feelings.
