Payback (Noisy Toys)

I remember my grandparents buying my sister and I noisy toys and laughing while my parents good natured, groaned about it. My Nana said it was payback for all the noise her kids made as children. I’ve heard adults say that to their children. When you have kids, I’m getting them loud toys so you know what it feels like. 
All of this was said with a laugh, but I know it applies to a lot of people.
This is a picture of Hudson with a pair of bagpipes. I don’t know who bought them for him (it wasn’t his grandparents), but oh boy, is that payback for any noise my sister and BIL ever made.

Pretty's mom tried sending noisy toys to my house after she'd buy them for Pretty. I'd take them away and tell her those were for her mom's house and she could have them back when I took her back to her mom's. 
I've never liked noise and, even as a child, preferred reading books to playing noisy games with my siblings. Even now, I prefer a quiet house. Pretty listens to music in her bedroom with the door closed. I wear headphones when I watch movies or YT videos.

Hudson looks so adorable playing those noisy bagpipes.
My daughter in law forbid me from buying my grandkids noisy toys, but I didn’t listen to her

Oh goodness, bagpipes! Now that IS a lot. Even when they're played well, they are still quite loud!
