Adobo. There's even a film made entitled American Adobo. It was about Filipinos living in America and of course preparing adobo.

I don't think the US is famous for any foods. We've borrowed all of our cuisine from other countries and then modified it to fit our own tastes. Unless, of course, you consider "fat back", "sow belly" or "squirrel and dumplings" American "foods"?

@DaddyEvil not meat loaf …..im guessing pot roast is just meat roasted in a pot. Although they may be in other countries we associate them with America

I guess we made American cheese, which technically is only a cheese product, and not real cheese. Most people from other countries ask if I eat a lot of fried chicken. Apparently, our fried chicken in the United States is famous? Maybe deep dish Chicago style pizza… I’d really like to think someone invented American cheese and just called it American to be spiteful. I don’t want to think we came up with it.

@Traceyjayne There is nothing like homemade fried chicken. That’s something every American household knows how to make young. It with fried potatoes is my favorite. By chance, do you have Church’s Chicken over there?

I would say barbecue, as far as I know it originated in the US. It is mostly famous in the South and the Midwest, but different areas have different sauces. Also, chicken wings originated in the US in Buffalo New YorK. There are different states who have their own regional specialities.

Well I come from Wales but apart from Welsh mountain lamb the only thing it seems to be famous for is laverbread, made from seaweed, which I confess I have never tried.

I don't know that we're famous for anything. Maybe lamingtons, Peach Melba, cheesecake and pavlova - all sweet things.

I think in the US every state is famous for different food. In Texas it's Chili, our official state dish or steak.
