It was really very pretty, and a nice price. However, in reading the tag that came with the plant I saw you were supposed to fertilize them on a regular basis. I have had these before. I don't remember ever fertilizing it. Maybe that was the problem. I don't remember them lasting that long. My grandmother had a total green thumb and grew the most beautiful African violets. Of course she had a sun porch that likely had a Southern exposure. She was the one who gave some to me. The only thing I was told about them was to water from the bottom. Have you ever grown African Violets?

One of my grandmothers grew lovely African Violets as well. I do not have the right lighting here or the right windows, so I will continue to just concentrate growing outside for now.

I have a nice kitchen window for plant growing. It's a little crowded on that sill, between plants and other items, but I could probably squeeze 1 or 2 others in there. I have other window sills that would work as well, but they are more likely to attract the cat.

Yes, when you have a cat, you have to think about a plant getting dumped over. Does Nico like to chew on plants?

@MarieCoyle No, but he doesn't have temptation in front of his face.

@LadyDuck Well, I think they all die over time. They say you can keep it a dark plaxe, and keep it watered and it will bloom the next year. I tried that but forgot to water it.

@snowy22315 I have a cactus fertilizer right now but may buy some made for them now that they are starting to put that stuff out for the year. I do water from the top but aim under the leaves. From what I know they are easy to over water. So I do them when I do my cactus and that seems to be working

My Mum grew them but I know they were very difficult to keep alive.
