We've moved

It's been a while since i was here last. I think I may have mentioned that we had no heat in that house because we couldn't afford the oil. The old landlord sold and the new one planned to raise our rent $700 in increments every 3 months. We would have been on a month to month lease. BUT, they wanted us to sign a 12-month payment agreement in order to get the deposit caught up. In other words, we could leave in any month with 30 days notice, but we'd be tied to the 12 month deposit payment plan after we left. My daughter found a house in less than two weeks and gave notice. We began moving mid-November. Everything is on one floor. No more going up stairs for bed or bathroom. No more going to the basement to wash clothes. And we have a 1-car garage to store our overflow. The animals like it better, too. Tucker and Josie are 10 and Tiki is 17-1/2. They're all beginning to age. Tiki acts like a kitten again. I haven't seen her climb on furniture like she is since we moved to the other house 15 years ago. We're much more comfortable here.

That sounds like a good change. I'm glad you don't have stairs to go up and down.

I am too. The only thing is they made the risers on the outside steps really deep, so I have some difficulty getting up and down on the porches. But that only happens a couple times a week, so I can live with that.

@jerzgirl I'd still be worried about you having trouble getting in and out of the house in case of an emergency, though.

I agree. I don't know how she found it so quickly, but I'm glad she did.

It was pretty impressive, I must say. They didn't think we'd be able to get out from under their thumb. Now the property management company has the state investigating their business practices. They took on the wrong person when they messed with her.
