When Vince went to Thailand recently and spent a night in Kuala Lumpar in Malaya and the way there. While in KL, he took a photo of this magnificent building. He didn’t realise at the time that it was once the world's tallest building. Known as Merdeka 118, it is now the second tallest, with Dubai’s Burj Khalifa being the tallest.
Merdeka means ‘independence’ in Malay. It is 118 storeys high. The diamond-shaped glass facades are meant to represent the diversity of Malaysians.
It’s a great-looking building. I was told that the way it is shaped reduces any sway at the top when it’s windy but I couldn’t find any information about that.
I'll try to add the photo later.

That’s amazing how they can build those tall buildings to “sway with the wind” AND to sway with earthquakes. Modern engineering marvels!!!
Beautiful building. I love the color.

It must have been a nice visit.
I do remember its name and also for some time, a building in Chinese Taipei or Taiwan was tallest as well and probably Petronas Towers.
Waiting for the picture !

It's different. I still wouldn't want to go anywhere near the top

It certainly sounds like an interesting skyscraper. I can never understand how architecture works but it's amazing how they can have that many stories and how it's designed so it doesn't topple over,
