I'm not surprised when they are predicting up to 2+ feet of snow. I am surprised that they made the call so early though. They usually like to leave us hanging until late at night or even at 5am in the morning.
I already moved my car to a non-reserved space. I'm not going outside again for at least 24 hours. I texted the Moroccan to tell him to move his car so we don't have to week again for the reserved spots to get plowed. He told me the battery is dead. I was like "AutoZone is right across the street". He said he'd get a new battery on Thursday when he gets paid. I hope they tow his car.
If we get even a foot (let alone 2) we'll be off for at least 2 days. Believe me I'm not someone who is dying to be at work but these are just more days that are cutting into my pool time in June!

They should really let you teach remotely.

My sister is a nurse in New York. There is no "No Work" for them, and I am aware that they must report for work during these times or whenever they are called upon. I believe they can request a leave of absence if the situation at their workplace is dire and travel is impossible; otherwise, they are required to report for duty.

Keeping fingers crossed that the snowfall will be light but I guess that's not going to happen.

If you get the amount predicted, you may not have school for more than 2 days. That would be a LOT of snow. I have lived through some snow whoppers, even the blizzard of '78. It just takes awhile for clean up, etc. to take place. And when there is a ton of snow, sometimes it becomes a big issue to find a place to put it all!
