A friend dropped in this morning and presented us with these boards he had made. He and his wife came for lunch the other day and we played a few games of Qwirkle.
He thought the stands we had which came with the game (you can see one on the right hand side) tipped over too easily so he got to and made six stands, one in each of the Qwirkle colours. They will certainly do the job very well. The colours don’t really matter but it’s a nice touch.
Qwirkle is a fun game where you have to either match colours or match shapes.

I've written about it before. Here's a photo of it 'in play'. You have to line up colours or shapes. You can't duplicate a tile in a line. There are six different colours and six different shapes. If you get the six in the one line you get extra points.

It's a fun game and not difficult to learn or to play. There are six different shapes and six different colours and the idea is to line them up however you can. If you get the six in a line you get extra points. Here is a game 'in play'.

I had not heard of this game, but I think it would be fun. My daughter and son in law like games, I am going to ask them if they have heard of this one.

You can see a game in progress on Linda's response. I think the children would love it. You might even be able to make up your own set if you had a few woodworking tools.
