Fiber, Exfoliation and Water

I have found these three things are very important. As we age, we find our skin drying, our digestive systems are not working that well anymore and constipation just isn't something I want to experience. Here are the reasons these three things stand out to me as being fundamentally important in my old age: Take fiber for instance. Have you ever been constipated? It can make that experience we all have to go through painful and awful. But by eating foods rich in fiber, you can reduce this from happening and have a nice experience and be off to better things. Those food reach in fiber are fruits, vegetables, seeds and nuts, and grains and legumes. Exfoliation -- I think this practice should be a part of everyone's beauty routine. It takes 5-10 minutes out of your day, and it removes dead skin cells. This improves texture, unclogs pores and boosts radiance to the skin. If people did this regularly, they wouldn't have to wear as much make up and acne could be less of an issue. Water -- You know I am the water nag. I think it is very important. It helps to flush toxins from our system and helps each organ in our body function better. I have seen people nearly die from not drinking enough.

I am doing my best to drink more water, especially with the kidney disease.

I agree. Teachers are the most constipated people in the world. I actually just returned from a facial which I do regularly and drink water to keep hydrated.

@celticeagle People who aren’t aware of these facts must be living in a hole.

@celticeagle In addition, everyone should exfoliate once a week - not more or less.

I agree with you. Though I don't exfoliate, I do eat a lot of fiber and drink a lot of water.

@celticeagle I haven't ever taken probiotics. So I don't know how it works.

Too much exfoliation isn't good either, removing the protective mantle...

That's good. Have you tried putting something in the water so you can get more of that?

You don't have to nag me about drinking water. I drink plenty every day. I do agree about the fiber too. Exfoliation is something I need to do more of.

I need to drink more water. I don't like the water here which is part of the problem. I've taken to adding a drop or two of lemon which disguises the taste.

That's a good thing to do. You might try other juices too. Water is something each organ in the body needs to work effectively.

I agree fully with you. I'd like to add, some walking or exercise keeps our system in good shape.
