It's not the fall that hurts you, it's the sudden stop at the end.

Judge Judy's doctor told her if she wants to live a long life then make sure she doesn't ever, ever fall down.
Well, I didn't seem to follow that advice, and today fell down. It's my biggest fear to fall and break forever something vital I need to live.
It's all my dog's fault since she was doing something she shouldn't and I turned around to tell her no and while falling I slammed into my bedroom door, and forever made it hard to open.
The great news is that I finally got up on my own and I can walk around, but it's painful everywhere.
God is so very good to me.
Have you ever fallen?

@misunderstood_zombie It is but I have very high tolerance for pain. There was one time we were cycling and it was a long ride and I felt pain on my right arm. It was really painful but I just continued cycling as I didn't want to be left behind by the group.
That was the last time I went on a long ride.

Really glad you didn't get badly hurt. I fell hard on my knee in May of last year. It took along time for it to feel normal after that I am talking about a few months. We don't heal like we used to when we were younger

That is so true. They say growing older isn't for the weak.

@misunderstood_zombie I missed the last step of the first flight of stairs and badly hit my knee. I was lucky after all.

I hope you're okay! Maybe see your doctor if you are still hurting or go to the ER like I did a couple of weeks ago.
I get dizzy and fall often. Usually I just fall on the carpet so don't get hurt. Twice lately I've fallen and hit my head on something so Pretty insisted I see the doctor. The doctor wanted me x-rayed so we were told to go to the ER.

@misunderstood_zombie At least we know why I've been dizzy, at least.

So sorry you fell and hurt yourself. That’s one reason why I don’t have pets anymore, especially cats. They have a habit of cutting in front of you when walking.
They say to never fall on your head. My husband has fallen flat on his face several times.
I’ve tripped and slipped if that counts. I once fell in deep snow and had a horrible time getting up. The worst fall ever was on vacation in Florida. The sidewalk was crowded with people, so stepped aside into a basin for a tree and lost my balance. I fell and skinned my knees and hands, and wound up rolling onto my back on the sidewalk in front of a crowded outdoor restaurant.

@misunderstood_zombie It’s so embarrassing, too.
I was walking in a parking lot with hubs and my brother in heels and a short dress when I slipped on a pebble and went down on my back. My brother saw my panties

I'm sorry you fell. I'm glad you're all right.
Yes, I've fallen a few times. One happened because I wasn't paying attention to the dogs who wrapped their leashes around my legs. When I tried to step forward, I fell flat. It took a couple of people to get me up.

I am sorry you fell. I know that is terrifying as well as painful.
A few years ago, I fell at my best friend's home out on her patio. She had a doormat there and it had curled up on one end and I tripped and went flying. Of course, I tried to catch myself with my hands when I went down. Broke my left wrist in several places, had a cast forever, I went to the hospital in her little town, they said I needed an orthopedic surgeon and of course, none was available there, it's a very small hospital. So I got in my car and drove the 2 hour drive home to the hospital there (that was where they wanted me to go anyway!) and had to deal with it all over again. Then it was too swollen and had to wait another day for the surgery, etc. One thing I can say is, it made me a LOT more careful about looking where I was walking!!
Yes, friend felt so bad about it all. She threw the rug away and cried.

That's terrible that you had to drive in so much pain for two hours to get help. I'm also going to be much more careful in the future.

I remember thinking that trip of two hours seemed to be much longer. And painful!! I was so glad to get to the hospital here and get things rolling on it all.
