A hard day's work

When Vince went to Thailand recently, he took a small suitcase and a backpack. Both had seen better days. The idea was that he’d buy new ones in Thailand as prices were likely to be cheaper. He would then leave the old ones behind.
I wonder if he took this photo first before waking up the poor guy and buying the bags. The case he bought is a bit similar to the orange one but is red.

Everything is cheaper in Thailand! I love shopping there.

@JudyEv That must have been many many years ago. When my mother was alive, they went shopping in Hong Kong for their boutique shop.

@toniganzon It was probably the 1950s.

I think many of them would have quite a hard life. A chemist Vince knew in Nepal slept under his counter and had to open up at all hours of the day and night if his services were needed. His shop was attached to a hospital so he was always on call.

It's a nice case but it's funny what you don't think about at the time. I suppose it about 30cm deep and opens up so you have two halves each 15cm deep. It's hard to close without everything in one half falling out.
When you're buying it, you don't think about such things.

Poor guy looks tired. I'm sure he was happy to make a sale, though.

I used to do that on my lunch breaks when I worked at Walmart. My lunches were an hour long. I'd read and eat the first half an hour and then take a nap the second half an hour.

@DaddyEvil I opted for a half hour lunch break and was able to go home earlier.

I imagine he does. This is a copy and paste from my reply to Amber (just to save me a bit of typing):

pretty suitcase. I had to buy new luggage last year because the big one had hole in it. So I bought a new set. I used the luggage back in November and I thought it would hold everything. It almost didn't.

He looks like I feel. I'll be glad when I'm done here. I can get under my blanket and close my eyes. I probably won't be able to sleep; but it will feel good.

I just wish I needed stuff but there isn't really anything I need.

The poor man looks exhausted. I am sure that Vince paid a good price for his case.
