More bruising

This is getting ridiculous. The hematologist said the random bruises I'm getting are directly linked to the low platelet level. I have one on the top of my hand but I never hit it on anything. Today I found one in between my pointer and middle fingers. I definitely didn't hit anything there. So far the most absurd spot I've discovered one was on the arch of my foot. I didn't step on anything! Ugh!

Is the iron you’re taking supposed to help with that? You have to take iron, right?

I haven't gotten supplements yet. He just said to eat more iron-rich food. I don't think it will affect my balance but hopefully improve my energy level.

@NJChicaa Yeah, definitely the energy, and the bruising.

That would drive me nuts. The arch of your foot?? Come on. ?? But I guess low platelets really do make your body bruise from basically nothing. I’m glad you’re on top of it and paying attention. Are you feeling okay otherwise? What did your hematologist suggest for platelet to increase?

He didn't have any advice other than to go back in 8 weeks for it to be re-checked.

Vince gets random bruising now when he doesn't remember doing anything to cause it. We blame the blood-thinners that he's on.

I wouldn't want to dispute what a hematologist said but if I was not sure I would get a second opinion

Those are bruises from regular everyday activities. We don't realize how much we put our bodies through on an ordinary day. Even holding a pencil/pen too tightly will cause bruising between your fingers I hope the doctor can help you with that soon.
