Here It Comes Again

Sunday, March 1, my birthday rolls around again. It reminds me that the last birthday I celebrated with family was when I turned 60, and that was the year Martin died. I don’t mind not celebrating; just the memories keep flying past and reminding me of each year that passes. In the photo is a gathering of Latvians at a place in Connecticut where parents could rent rooms and get out of the city during the summer for their kids. I am the little munchkin in pink sitting in my mom’s lap, and my grandmother, Mom's mom, is sitting next to us.

@RasmaSandra I know Westbrook very well. It’s all built up now. They have a place called Water’s Edge with great restaurants, places to buy, music, etc. I go there a lot and sometimes go just for a massage. You can look it up online.

@DianneN some of the people who owned this property still live there. The daughter of the owner is now 78.Their address was Boston Post Road. My parents stopped taking me there when I got to be 5 because they were afraid I might run out on the passing roadway and get hit by a car so they found a Latvian summer place in the woods in the Catskill Mountains.

I love the photo, you are such a little cutie here with your sweet mother.
My husband just celebrated his birthday on the 26th, we kept that going for 4 days.

@RasmaSandra Yes, Willow and Harper are growing like weeds, and maturing so nicely.
They are such well spoken and smart little girls-but every grandparent says that I'm sure.
They are ready for junior kindergarten, but since they have to be 4 before the end of the year, and they turned 4 the end of January, they won't start school until September. But we can see how they are ready.
I try to keep them stocked with little workbooks, to learn printing their letters and numbers and of course working on phonics also.

Isn't it annoying how birthdays keep coming every year? You'd think we could get by without having so many of them.
