We’ve all had “ What a Day”

I won’t bore you with what I cleaned, all the little and big things I did, or anything else that happened today, except for one or two possibly boring things. We finally got to visit our friend who is in rehab. It was sooooo good seeing him up in a chair, talking with him, and gabbing for almost four hours with both him and his wife. He wasn’t like this until yesterday. He will never be cured or well. Besides congestive heart failure and COPD, he’s having liver and kidney issues. But he finally agreed to his therapy yesterday, although he’s still not walking or able to stand. The doctor even prayed with him before his surgery. So, hubs and I feel better having seen him. We had a huge thunderstorm unlike any we’ve ever seen in Florida. Thankful to be home, safe and sound, and are counting our blessings,. Photo was taken on a summer vacation 5 years ago. The carving reminds me of Orville the osprey. Ignore the dead fish.

I'm glad your friend is doing better and you got to visit with them both. I'm also happy you're both home safely now. That is a lovely carving.

@DianneN You're very welcome. On a trip home from Silver Dollar City. about an hour and a half from our house. my windshield wipers stopped working. We found out that without them clearing the rain, the sheeting rain could be seen through just fine and made the return trip without a problem. We had a fuse replaced the next day and that fixed the problem.

@DaddyEvil Wish I could say the same about Florida rainstorms. The clouds seem to come down to the ground as it rains.

Thank you. We were so glad to get home safely. The windshield wipers couldn’t clear the windshield fast enough.

I am happy for you, that you were able to have a good visit together at last. I’m sure it meant as much to him and his wife as it did to you and your husband. I’ve been in some whopper thunderstorms in Florida as well as a few hurricanes. Glad you are safe at home.

@MarieCoyle I swear I hear thunder in the distance as I respond to you. I think we have a good chance of rain and hopefully you’ll be rained upon, too.

@DianneN We do get our share of loud and heavy thunderstorms here, but you get more. It's supposed to rain all this week, and I actually hope it really does. We need rain very badly here.

I'm so glad you got to spend time with your friends, I pray you'll get another chance to visit before you head north. Spring already sprang here so I wouldn't be surprised if spring has sprung in FL as well. I hope that storm is the last you'll see before you leave.

Thank heavens you get to see her often and I pray her hubby will regain enough strength to move around comfortably. to her and her bravery. I hope the rains for me won't begin here until Isreal has completed the repairs under my mobile home, time will tell.

@rebelann Her numbers are bad, but she received an infusion and will fly back on March 18th for a checkup. Next infusion is scheduled for May. Poor thing, and I’m sure the worries about her husband aren’t helping. I hope those repairs are done soon and help.

We will definitely see them before going north. Hopefully, he will improve enough to be around. I see her almost every day, since she lives in my condo. How nice that spring has sprung for you. Enjoy the nice weather. We woke up to another thunderstorm this morning and had lots of rain since yesterday. We really needed the rain.

Well, heck, now that you mentioned the fish, I can't ignore it. So many questions. Did someone throw him back? An ospry drop him and say forget it? A boat get him? Sorry. I'm silly tired tonight. I'm sorry your friend is having so many health issues. It's nice you got to spend time with him and his wife.

Thanks for being silly, because it made me laugh. Sorry that you’re silly tired and hope you had a good sleep. We are very happy to have seen our friend. It wasn’t looking good for him until Friday when by a miracle he became more himself.

I guess your friend will never be really well, but it is nice you got to spend some time with him, and he was well enough to interact.I did laundry today, that was about the extent of my domestic efforts.

We do. He was thrilled and very happy to see us, but he had to return to his bed afterwards. We must have tired him out.

Orville looks majestic. I count my blessings especially when things go wrong. A few complain all the time but most physically challenged appear more positive and look forward to better times.

It’s always important to count our blessings all the time. Exactly, and it’s also important to be optimistic.

The doctor didn’t think he’d make it through the surgery, nor did other doctors on the team, but the surgery was his last hope. Thanks so much.
