What do I get rid of next? Are you "downsizing"?

Like many "old timers" I am trying to get rid of stuff from my house. I have outgrown my smallish space, and find myself stumbling over book, class handouts, musical instruments, and stereo components.
In the kitchen, I have plates I never use, pans I never use, and even canned goods that archaeologists would find interesting.
Are you "downsizing"? Where did you start? And where are you now? I have gotten rid on many old student papers, some text books from publishers, boxes from LL Bean, dried up wood stain and wood glue, and other random material objects I will never use.
But the process continues.

We did this years ago, down size and declutter
We got rid of everything when we moved here, bought new, and have never got too much stuff again, apart from my 6 coffee machines
We actually arrived at our new home with just one small van of stuff.
We have never really had clutter again since
It's great.

We had too much stuff when we moved into this house over 9 years ago. We gave stuff to friends, we gave it to thrift stores and we threw a lot of stuff away and still filled half the garage with stuff we haven't even looked at since we moved here.
I keep saying we need to sort through the garage and donate more of it to the thrift shops but I'm always tired so don't do it.

I usually just start with one area and clean it then move to the next one. I have got rid of a lot of dust collectors the last few years

I have very little left leaving a good amount of stuff in Latvia but the personal things like photo albums I don't know what to do,

Yes I'm working on getting rid of stuff. I have no system which means I'm just randomly placing things for donation or trash. Without a system it just seems as if I get rid of one thing 2 things take it's place. I really should just concentrate on one area at a time and maybe I would make more progress.

I'm not but I need to. When I moved here I was planning to buy a house in a year or so. After almost 7 years I am still here and people keep giving me stuff. I don't have room for anymore stuff. I'm neither a hoarder nor a minimalist but there is just too much stuff everywhere.
