Just made cabbage soup

I just made cabbage soup. Usually, I make it in a huge pot and it lasts me five days, if not more, which I love. Last time there was even enough to share with my mom. Today, I decided to make it in a much smaller pot. I wanted to see how long it’ll last if I make it in that pot. Hopefully, it’ll last me until Friday. If not, I’ll go back to the bigger pot next time. Of course it depends on whether my dinner is only soup or soup and then something else. I still haven’t figured that out.

I make cabbage soup with hamburger and sausage and onions once or twice a year. I make a large pot of it and freeze most of it so Pretty can microwave it for me when I can't see to cook for myself. I hope you're enjoying yours.

@lovebuglena I fry hamburger and sausage with onions in a frying pan, cut the cabbage up and put it into a large pot with beef broth and then dump the cooked meats and onions into the pot with the cabbage and add spices to it. Then let everything simmer for a few hours stirring it once in a while. It's really good!

It was delicious. Will be even better tomorrow. I never tried putting meat into the soup. Interesting idea.

Thanks. It just might as soup won’t be the only thing I eat for dinner. Tonight I boiled two beef franks and baked some oriental yams that I cut into smaller pieces before baking.

I guess you'll soon know what you need to do next time. Your mom will appreciate some soup I'm sure.

It’s delicious and comforting. I love it with sour cream. And if I have fresh bread and butter to go along with it it’s even better.

Cabbage soup can easily last five days and it doesn’t go bad. At least in my experience. The longer it sits the better it tastes.
