What's For Dinner?

Happy Tuesday Everyone! yuck, it's a miserable day with an icy mix falling. It's cold and dreary. I hate days like this when I have to have the lights on in the house. After having 2 large mugs of coffee this morning I was able to get myself going and got some things done around the house. Back in my younger days I could clean my whole house in a matter of a few hours. Now I move more slowly and have to break up the chores and do a little at a time. I do miss those days filled with energy. The day itself was pretty quiet. No complaints. Now I'm getting ready to start dinner and we're having lightly breaded chicken breasts stuffed with cheese and broccoli. We get them (frozen) at Sams Club and they are so delicious. They also have Chicken Cordon Bleu so we alternate when we do our Sams Club shopping. Along with our yummy stuffed chicken breasts we're having mashed sweet potatoes and sugar snap peas. Since it's Tuesday and my older daughter comes over for girls night I'm excited to see what she brings for dessert. That's my day in a nutshell. How was/is your day going?

I hate cleaning the bathroom even though it's not something to ignore. Actually there isn't any household chore I like doing Your dinner sounds delicious especially the "really" good gravy part. Did you make the gravy?

@Ineeddentures I'm so jealous. I've never been able to make a good gravy. I'm sure I would love your gravy.

@Marilynda1225 Yes I did From scratch. Once the onions are caramelised it's easy. All the juices from the pork, and the carrots and potatoes because there was lard used in the roasting , salt and pepper, mustard, A Beef Oxo , and some corn flour Bingo

We've been doing this for years and it's nice to have a girls night once a week. My middle daughter doesn't live close so she misses out on all the fun

Your supper sounds yummy. It is a cold day here today, and it was quite cloudy. I am making supper with some comfort foods. I have some muffin pans in the oven with some bisquick in them and I put a small meatball on top of the mix and the bisquick bakes up and around the meatball to make like a paper covering would be in you put one in to make cupcakes. It is just nice and comforting. I will open a can of beans to go along with it, and since we're on a relish tray kick as of late, I will quarter up some dill pickles and put out some red beets. I sent a muffin mix with Grandpa today, the girls just love to mix and stir up a batch, and he told me that they each ate 3 blueberry muffins afterwards-imagine!

Those meatball bisquick bakes are really good. Bisquick has always been a staple in my house ever since I was a kid. My mom used bisquick for so many things and then I just followed when I got married and had my own family. Sounds like Grandpa and the girls are still having good time together, I'm sure they're getting so big now.

@Juliaacv I remember when he said he was going to take care of them when he retired and here we are, years later and they have such a wonderful relationship.

Oh, YUM! That sounds delicious! Now that we have extra freezer space we should look at buying things like that! I bought a large tub of shredded pork in barbecue sauce when we went shopping a few day ago and have it in the fridge thawing for supper later tonight. I ate late lunch about an hour ago so won't be hungry until late tonight. We had a really busy morning and I've slept a good part of the day away. We've had misting rain most of the day so that just makes sleeping that much more enjoyable. (It still reached 72F so I have a fan running pointing at me while I'm on my bed playing on myLot. )

@Marilynda1225 Yes, I was planning a good dinner. Too bad I got sick and couldn't eat for a couple of days. I'm feeling better this morning, at least.

Yum I love shredded pork in bbq sauce. Sounds like you have a good dinner planned. We have a freezer in the garage so it's wonderful being able to buy extra and have a place to keep it all.

@Marilynda1225 Yes, it was a wild and crazy day for me. I still have so many things to take care of, phone calls to make, and omg, more to do. I must be a very lazy person inherently, because I am looking forward to doing absolutely nothing.

AS we grow older, we do feel some limitations in the things we used to do.
