Good Morning 3/9

In what seems to have become a Monday morning tradition we have yoga and fog on tap for today. It was about 50 last night and will get up to about 75 0r 76 today, hence the fog. Anyway, this morning I had 5 or 6 deer in the yard. I noticed one that had a long white tail, almost as long as a cat's tail. That is unusual in a deer..normally white tail deer have short bob like tails. I often see deer outside one of the bedroom windows, but by the time I get something up to photograph them they are of course gone, or the pic doesn't show up. Sigh! Wouldn't you think the deer could be considerate enough to stay in one place just for a photo op?

You are so right that a long tail is unusual in a deer. I miss so many photos of animals. They have no patience to wait!

It's frustrating. I saw a heron the other day..and it was close..I knew though if I whipped out my camera he would be gone.

I love my trail cameras for that reason. You could get one of those and set it up. Depending on what type you buy you wouldn't even have to go outside to check it. Mine connect to my phone

I have one. It was hard to set up though. I will get my son to do it when he comes down.

Yup you would think those deer would pose for a photo We get deer occasionally running through our backyards but never quite still enough for a photo either. Lately I've had 2 doves that have been visiting my deck.

Our birdbath was excellent for getting shots of birds. They don't often want to hang around waiting for a photo.

I have a bird bath, but I have never seen a bird bathing in there. I think there are enough water sources around here they don't need to use them. However, I admit it doesn't often have water in it, only when it rains. I guess keeping it filled might help.

@snowy22315 I haven't seen any birds in the one here either but the one in Donnybrook was very well attended.

Have you thought about putting out a salt block for the deer? They might stick around more.
