We are looking to buy a new vacuum cleaner
But after making a few bad purchases
We really don't know what to buy
And so we need your help
With suggestions as to what we could buy
Hardly any stores have them on display anymore
It's difficult
So
If you were on the look out for a new vacuum
What would you buy?

I bought a bagged vacuum this time. It's a Bissell. I got tired of stopping to empty the dust bin and cleaning the filters. This one doesn't need as much attention

@Ineeddentures Those were good ones too. The Bissell I bought wasn't too expensive either.

Bissell is a good brand
We need a lightweight one Yvonne can use.
She insists,
Pity because I can do the vacuum myself and don't need help or guidance

See I think the one we have on the shed, like the one in the picture on my post will clean up and work fine

Our last vacuum cleaner is a Sebu, I think. My son recommended it and it could suck up a cat it’s so strong. It comes with all kinds of attachments and was highly recommended. My cleaning lady uses it, because it’s too heavy for me. I also bought a cordless Electrolux, Bissell, and Sharp which are great for quick cleaning of floors and carpets. They are kept on different floors. Hated our Robotic Vacuum. Don’t waste your money on those.

I would go with a cordless vac personally. Having one is heaven.

Oh well
We have one
But the battery only lasts 10 minutes
A new battery costs more than the thng itself

@Ineeddentures A new one will last longer. When ours lost so much battery power, hubs called the company and they sent us a new one gratis!

I bought a cordless one, it's a pain, the charge does not last long and it does not vacuum well. I took out my 55 years old Vorwerk folletto, it's still the best. I hate those without a paper bag, so much better to take out the bag and replace than to clean one from the dust.

Now you are talking Anna
I have a Hoover on the shed that looks like the one on the picture in this post.
I have told Yvonne it works perfectly well and I can clean it up so it is immaculate

@Ineeddentures - My husband insisted to buy a new one. I tried that garbage and I went back to my very old vacuum cleaner. Those cordless do not do a good job.

@LadyDuck
I have found that out to be true
It makes me mad
All that money and it doesn't do as good a job as an old cloth bag Hoover from the 50,s

Check out Dyson. Considered really good. My mom loves it.

Honestly, if I were buying a vacuum now, I’d go for something reliable like a Dyson or Shark. Strong suction, easy to clean, and they last. What kind of floors or mess are you mainly dealing with?

Not dealing with any messes
Just day to day bits and pieces that get on a carpet
We have wooden flooring and carpets

I like my canister vacuum cleaner.
Sure it takes up room in the closet, and it was very costly, but it is very reliable more than a dozen years after purchasing it.
I have a robot vacuum which will not withstand the test of time. It also doesn't do a great job on tile floor.
My canister vacuum does a good job on all flooring types and carpeting, its just the physical labour of pushing it that I dislike.

Just now
Not wanting to drag a heavy vacuum around, I have a Bissell FeatherWeight. This is the one where you have to empty the dust bin and clean the filter but I have a small apartment and i don't do it all too often.

Where's my chips!!
They need a pinch of salt
Reviews, well I don't trust them,
Well I do but only the ones that say a product is crap lol
Our cordless one is good enough, pity about the battery

The last vacuum I bought which has lasted a long time was a Sears brand. I think it's a Kenmore. Bissell and Hoover should also be good.

I like my clear canister Dyson but they're a bit pricey. Shark makes a cordless upright canister vac that's supposed to be pretty good.

Price doesn't matter
The one we have cost enough
Good enough Vacuum , pity the battery has only lasted just over 2 years and costs £200 for a new one
