I cannot take ibuprofen or Tylenol

After the endoscopy I was told that I can't take ibuprofen for pain. Well upon follow up I was told I can't take Tylenol either. I was like okay so what do I take? The doctor rattled off the name of something I've never heard of before that starts with an "r". He said "it is a muscle relaxer". Um, wut? I'm supposed to take a muscle relaxer for a headache or sore hip? That makes absolutely no sense. What's even crazier is that he didn't even give me a prescription for whatever it is. I guess the good news is that I rarely get headaches. I can't say the same about hip pain though.

It looks like maybe you should call him and get a prescription. I've never taken Robaxin. I have another med, Soma, for muscle spasms.

Some doctors do seem very casual.

For that sore hip use a topical. Like Bio Freeze or Voltaren gel. Much kinder to your liver and kidneys and less likely to cause bleeding.

That sounds so odd.

@NJChicaa It will indeed work on the kind of pain you speak of. It works by blocking nerve impulses (or pain sensations) that are sent to your brain.
