I posted earlier that I had cleared out a big cupboard in my kitchen and had almost filled our bin and had several bags ready to be thrown away.
I asked The Mister to come with me over the road to put the bags in our dearly departed neighbours bin.
We went out for food and when we got back …….
The new people were at the house …….
Oh no !
That has well and truly messed up my plan…..
Unless they go fairly soon I will have to think again about where I can put the bags …..
Typical ….eh !

We are hoping that they won’t stay til late and we can still take the bags over there. They have only come in cars , they haven’t brought furniture yet…..we may still be able to get away with it……

Can you take out the bags for collection without throwing it in the bin? Is that allowed?

No, they have to be in the bin, otherwise it won’t get taken. Also we have another week before the rubbish is collected…l.l

@lovebuglena no, here it has to be in the bin and the lid has to be closed otherwise they don’t empty the bin but they put a big yellow sticker on the bin telling you to pack it properly.

@Traceyjayne in New York City we now have a policy that garbage has to be put out in a bin with a lid. If we don’t do that, we can get a fine, but I think it’ll still get taken.

You could go over, introduce yourselves and tell them you have more trash than your bin will hold and ask if they mind if you put some in the dumpster they have there.

@Traceyjayne I'd do that before I sneaked over and put stuff in anyway.

They aren’t there now …..but I don’t think introducing ourselves then straight away asking if we can use their bin will show us in a very good light !

Oh bother. I hope they left in time for you to add to their bins. Are you friends with the neighbours? Are they likely to have any room in their bin?
