Boomerang Weather

Here we are mid March 2026. We've had a long and hard winter. We have been feeling the effects of that season coming to an end over the past month or so. And yes, it gets cold again too. Many people were worried about wet basements, due to the run off from the spring thaw just yesterday, and today, that is no longer an immediate threat. I worked at our downtown towers today. From my seat on the 21st floor, I should have had a great view of the city. But the windows were facing the way that the wind was blowing into. I saw only white, and lots of it! Yesterday's spring thaw has given way to another push from Old Man Winter. We did receive a few centimeters, just enough that I wished that my husband had dropped me off at work so that I wouldn't have to get the snow brush out to clean the windshield after work, but that wasn't the case. The air was warmish enough that the heavy, wet snow, could be cleared from within the driver's seat-with the windshield wipers. So, that is what I did. And as I look outside, the snow has begun again, and we are expecting 5 cm tonight. Quite the boomerang weather we are experiencing, and on the final day of classes for students before the March break. I hope that it is warmer and clear for them for next week, as many young ones like to play outside and ride their bikes. ~Photo is mine

It's been that way here too. We had high winds and even higher gusts all day

I sincerely hope we are all done with snow here. I don't even remember snow here before after about March 1st, so it is already an anamoly.

I can't say the same, we usually get 1 or 2 snow burst days during the month. I hope that we don't get any on Easter weekend, as Easter is early this year.

@snowy22315 I remember going to my Uncle's wake in early May about 10 years ago, and there were flurries when we were driving into town.

On my birthday, Match 1st, it was 40 degrees F (4 C). Next week it will be 90 F (32 C). It feels nuts.

I missed your birthday-Happy Belated Birthday. Our weather has been up and down, which is typical for March. We usually have a snow storm or 2, but with yesterday's smattering of snow, I wouldn't be surprised to see 1 more day of that awful weather, I just hope that it isn't on Easter weekend.

I am sorry that the view form 21st floor was not as great as it could have been. Old Man Winter is here today, tomorrow should also be cold and rainy, but next week spring is back.

That's how it is in Missouri, too. We have 74F/23C today with lots of sunshine. Tomorrow we'll have heavy rains turning into snow by the afternoon and through Monday. I am NOT looking forward to more snow! (Although we may wish for colder weather before summer is half over. )

This is typical for March, we usually get at least 1 snow storm amongst the beautiful mild weather days.

Oh my, weather everywhere is acting totally crazy! A couple days ago it was in the high 80's here. Then we had a storm that lasted a few minutes-now the weather is in the 60's again.

It is really yo-yo weather. But soon, you will have a sweet little newborn to cuddle and forget all about the nasty weather.

Burrrr, that's way too cold for me. Here it's full spring time. Trees are beginning to show tiny green leaves and my vinka has bloomed. Of course it's our first seasaw season here too, the temps could drop to 60 but I'm hoping that won't happen, to day it's up to 27c and tomorrow will be a little warmer then Monday it'll drop some 15 degrees. It is what it is but boy am I glad we don't get snow ***I'm knocking on wood***

The tiniest little starts to buds on the trees are visible. They don't open for another month or so, but this year they are getting a cold start. And the robins have returned, poor little things, they aren't used to such cold weather.

I live in a part of the earth with very different kind of weather. Your description gives a clear picture of the weather woes you face. Hope it gets better for all of you there.

Thank you, I hope that things settle down also. I have some co-workers from your country. They usually go back home during our winters.

We've had more brutally low temperatures and gale force winds than I can remember since about 1989 or so. Have a good weekend.

What do you call a boomerang that don't come back? A stick.

The boomerang from the winter weather is coming back again and again it feels. One day it will leave and not return like a stick thrown far far away.
