Firefighters from the Oceanside Fire Department answered an emergency call on Thursday evening when a man jumped into the Pacific Ocean from the Oceanside Pier. A surfer who was in the area found the man who was in the ocean as he used his surfboard to the shore assisting the Oceanside Police Department, Oceanside lifeguards who used a rescue boat and the Oceanside Fire Department. Crews transported the injured man who was rescued by the surfer to a local hospital. The authorities want to thank the surfer who assisted them in finding the man who jumped into the ocean even though it happened around sunset which brings up the question that the did the man who jumped into the ocean from a pier wanted to end his life or did he fall into the ocean by accident? Not a bright thing to do, so I guess the man wanted to get swept out to sea.

I'm glad he was rescued, regardless of the reason why he was in the ocean.
