Simple & Slow Sunday

How do you usually spend your weekend? A typical weekend for me, as a homebody is spending my day off snuggling a little longer in bed. Somehow my body clock still remembers to wake me up at 5am or 6am even my alarm is off. Sometimes I get lucky and sleep until 10am. Once I'm up, I tidy my room, do my laundry and sweep the leaves around the house. After that, I head back to my little cave for another well deserved power nap or I watched movies and kdrama. Back then, I used to be the busiest but overtime as I turn in my 30s, I slow down just small chores, soft naps and simple routines.

After a hectic week I was waiting for Sunday. I rested for whole day. I went for shopping with my wife to buy a trunk to keep quilts and matrices.

I’m a big fan of naps on weekends, but unfortunately, I can never seem to take any. I hope you have a fantastic Sunday!

I am retired, so my weekends are no different from any other day of the week. I like my daily routine. We get up before 6 am, I prepare breakfast, clean the house, do laundry if needed and then I read or I work on my computer.

When will I have such freedom everyday? No schedule work, no pressure. I couldn't wait to retire

@Jehanne I hoped for a lot more relaxed retirement. My husband suffers of senile dementia and I am his caregiver.

@LadyDuck I'm really sorry to hear that. I hope you're able to get some support and time for yourself too. You're doing an incredible thing caring for him. I admire you for that. Hugs!

I usually sleep during the daytime and am awake at night. I am watching a movie this morning so will go to sleep in a little while. (I'm surprised I haven't fallen asleep watching the movie, honestly. )

@Jehanne When my daughter was a teenager, she'd tell me I was wasting money going to see new movies because I'd fall asleep half way through it.

@DaddyEvil not at all! because based on experience it's so relaxing sleeping inside the cinema, specially when the seat is a recliner.

Every other weekend we gave the Grandkids ….hectic time. The other weekend it’s out to do what we wish. Sometimes we go out for the day.

I can relate to this so much. Sometimes a quiet and simple weekend is exactly what we need after busy days during the week. Waking up early even without an alarm happens to me too, I guess our body clock just gets used to it. I also enjoy doing small chores, tidying the house, and then relaxing with a movie or a good series. As we grow older, our priorities change. We may not be as busy as before, but those slow and peaceful moments feel more meaningful. A calm weekend, a short nap, and simple routines can be a very nice way to recharge our energy.

It's Church day and dining outside for us. That has been our practice for about two years now. And yesterday, I was away from mylot for most of the day because of church. And since Victory church is just next to SM City, we went there straight fro lunch and a bit of shopping. The shopping was for my fur babies though. It was payday sale and since it's weekend lots of people which I don't really enjoy. Don't like crowded places so didn't stay long. Just grabbed what I needed for the fur babies and drove back home.

That's a meaningful routine because it makes the family bond more connected. As much as we like payday sales, the crowd can really feel overwhelming. Good thing you are able to get what your fur babies needed.

I am taking a reset day today. A day to reset and relax together with my husband, that way we will both feel refreshed and ready to tackle whatever next week throws our way.
