Night time neighbours …..

United Kingdom
March 16, 2026 7:01am CST
So, the house across the road is sold ….i posted last weekend that we had loads of items from our neighbour John's family. They just wanted everything gone, and we saved them several more trips to the tip. Anyway, three nights since then the ‘ new ‘ people have been at the house. When I say nights I mean nights ….they haven’t come before 9pm and stay several hours. They haven’t brought any furniture yet. The Mister thinks that they are just planning what changes they are going to be making to the house ….and he’s probably right. Yes, it needs decorating but apart from changing doors etc, I don’t think there’s much to be done. Unfortunately it may be more a case of practically just leaving a shell and starting again, Why do people buy a house if it’s not what they are looking for ! I can understand a few changes , but sometimes it becomes silly . They have lots of cars, including a taxi. So I’m guessing that will be coming and going at all hours, and they will probably take up the front garden to get more cars on the drive ….. Not looking forward to this at all !

@Traceyjayne When they pretend to be humans, they do. Never invite them in your home.

@toniganzon that’s not very likely given the noise they made last night when they were leaving ….

Don't you just love new neighbors? You never know if they'll be quiet or partying all night. Or the kind that sit out in the back yard by themselves and play their music like there's a party going on.

I hope they don't become nuisance neighbors especially with all those cars.

On the other hand, once they're settled they may be perfectly nice and the best neighbours ever.

Hope their cars won't cause trouble for you late at night especially when you are already asleep. Car honking can be annoying if it wakes you up.

I hope so too. There were at least four cars including a taxi ……The Mister has to be up at 4am on a Monday so I hope they are quiet.
