I actually sold something!

Both the girls have been having a clear-out and reorganisation of their bedrooms, and consequently I have a heap of things around me here in my workspace waiting for me to donate them to a charity shop or give them away on Freegle or do something else. There are some books and toys which we all loved and can’t bear to part with, even if they are now outgrown, but Bratz dolls are not one of those, so I thought I would try listing them on Ebay and see if anyone would buy them. Even if I only get a few pounds I can then use the money to buy the girls something else – none of us is averse to second-hand bargains. And if they didn’t sell they could go to the charity shop anyway. Well rather to my surprise, someone did buy them! I didn’t really expect that because, as I’ve mentioned here before, I have had no luck selling things on Ebay for the past few years. Things I’ve listed for sale have just been relisted over and over and over again, receiving 0 views, 0 views, 0 views… Buoyed by that success, I tried listing something else I’ve had waiting around for years, and that sold as well! I don’t know whether something has changed in the Ebay system, or something has changed among buyers, anyway I was pleased and hope I can get rid of a few more things! Has anyone else had any luck selling things recently? All rights reserved. © Text and image copyright Fleur 2026.

We have a few motor-home accessories online for sale at the moment but no takers so far. It would be good if you were able to sell more stuff.

It can be really hard to find buyers for more specialist stuff. Someone out there probably needs exactly those things, but they just don't know about them.

@Fleura We did actually sell two things this morning so that's good. Sometimes you can find a specialist site for some things.

I haven't sold anything recently; but i used to sell a lot on eBay. I now have a couple dozen items that my husband bought and never used...still in the original package. I've thought about eBay but postage is quite high and I would need help taking the pictures, packaging the items and taking them to the post office.

That is fantastic! I’m glad to hear you picked up some money for something no one had use for. The last time I sold was something on Christmas, unfortunately. Hopefully, I’ll have luck soon because I’m about to try again soon.

It's lucky that I wasn't in a hurry otherwise I would have had to throw stuff out. I'm working slowly through all kinds of strange things!

No luck here. Gumtree Too many dreamers and idiots on Gumtree pretending to be interested in buying stuff All you get is " what's the least you will take" I got that today from someone asking about a telly we are selling for a mere £30 I told him less than what I wanted and he said he would take it, and then the cheeky bugger asked if I would deliver it I told him to get stuffed.

We haven't tried selling anything in years. Pretty just isn't interested in selling stuff. We usually donate stuff to a charity shop.

I did but haven't tried doing it thru online by my own. I usually ask my cousin to try selling some of my stuff that is still useful. The rest that was not sold will always be donated every year end.
