Happy St. Paddy’s Day

Tomorrow is the day for the Irish, and not Irish, and anyone who enjoys wearing green and singing Irish songs. As a child I loved this day because I could wear green, and the teacher talked about pots of gold and leprechauns. However, it is also a sad day for my family since my maternal grandmother died right on this morning in the early 60s. To make things happier, I have added one of my favorite Irish songs, “Whiskey on a Sunday." ”.

@JudyEv alwasy been among my favorites. Wish my left knee was more flexible; I'd turn up the volume and do a jig.

Nice tune. I enjoy tomorrow. I enjoy my heritage and look forward to the corned beef and cabbage for dinner. I will listen to Celtic flute music before bed.

I am sorry you have something sad to think about on St. Patrick’s Day, but hopefully the good memories overshadow the bad.

@RasmaSandra - In the UK it's not popular, the Patron Saint of the UK is not St.Patrick. Our Irish myLotter told us last year that even in Ireland is a very little celebration.

@LadyDuck I hope you like it. I guess it is not popular everywhere in Europe, mostly, I guess, in the UK When I asked about celebration online, it said from Dublin to the canals of Amsterdam,

I’m only Irish because I loved Ireland so much, and am wearing the green sweatshirt I bought there today. My husband’s mother passed away on St. Patrick’s Day.

@DianneN it always sort of spoils a holiday when someone passes away on that day,

@RasmaSandra You’re right. However, our friend Sandi is Irish and always had a party at her house. With her being ill and her husband ill, those parties ended. I was going to ask her and a few other people to come for corned beef, etc. tonight, especially since I have a huge corned beef now hogging up my freezer, but hubs said no way. We are both suffering from all the overheating we did over the weekend. Soup again tonight for dinner. Have a good evening and Happy St. Patrick’s Day anyway. That’s about all we can do.

Have a great day. It's not a day I celebrate, I don't think many of us do although it used to be a very popular day to get drunk on and have a party
