A warning about melatonin products

I’ve never taken melatonin products but about a month ago the Australian Border Force confiscated 150,000 units of melatonin.
These imported products were unregistered and had come into the country legally but, after testing, significant discrepancies were found between the actual melatonin content as opposed to what was on the label. Some products had four times the amount of melatonin that was listed on the label.
The imported products, whether tablets, capsules or gummies, are much cheaper than those from pharmacies. However, over the last twelve months, there has been a dramatic increase in calls made to poisons hotlines regarding children and melatonin ingestion.
There is always something to worry about, isn’t there?
The photo is mine of Blue. He looks like he might have had too much melatonin.

I recently read a story where an Aussie character was called Blue, because he had red hair... just like your little kitty there.

Blue looks so peaceful. I have never used a sleep aid.

I used to take Melatonin when I was under a lot of stress at a job. It did help me sleep but left me groggy the next day.
