Have you ever had that strange feeling that someone is always watching what you do? I have and it actually turned out to be true. Earlier today, while I was working on my computer, I felt like everything I did was being monitored like a cctv camera watching my every move 24/7. Lol! Then it happened. The cursor on my monitor started moving on its own, performing actions I hadn't done. That's when realized someone is actually have access remotely to my PC. I know it wasn't something I should be worried since I know who access it, but it's a reminder how vulnerable we can be online, even in our own spaces.

If it's a work computer, then of course your company/their IT specialist has access to your computer at all times. If it's a personal laptop you bought yourself, then you can check and see who has access to it. If you need, I can explain how to check it and block their access.

@Jehanne I'm glad you know who it is and that he's actually doing needed work. Yeah, some IT people like to remind us to revoke access when they're done working on our computers.

@augusta123 Hello... I don't think I've ever talked with you before. Welcome to myLot. I'll need to know what type of computer you own and what operating system you're using (nothing that will give me access to it, I promise.) so I can tell you the steps you'll need to take. Tell me if you don't understand what I'm asking for.

Yes, it's our system admin. I know he can remotely access my desktop but he don't have access in real time viewing. He usually ask permission. But today, he didn't asked and access it while I was doing work. I realized that yesterday he ask for my ID and password for some work he needs to do but after his done, I only disconnect him. Since everything was enabled on my desktop, he can still freely view it real-time. I'm close to him so I think he kind of tease me by interrupting my work at the same time hinting me that his access is still running on the background. I actually let him whole day have fun. Lol! As I end my work today, I finally kick him out. but only disabled few not totally block him because my desktop is acting as a server.

Does this happen on your working place? Surely someone has remote access to your PC.

Yes, somehow it is. That's why in my personal laptop I don't allow anyone to use it because they might install something I'm not aware of. It's no worries because the person who access it today is our system admin.

@augusta123 there's always a certain people who are so really good on tech. A programmer, software engineer, IT specialist, name it! they are all around. But those who took advantage on something they are knowledgeable in a bad way like some hacker. Someone privacy and security might be at risks.

Yeah it sounds scary if the situation was different to what I hadn't expect but gladly it was someone from the company who access it. It's very weird and scary being watched for real.

@Jehanne What do you mean by free and open source? The public wifi? I never used them at all because they aren't secure.

@toniganzon I'm not using it either. I'm referring to a remote access software like teamviewer, anydesk those are free to use. Even if your pc is at home you can remotely access it while using your phone.

It's always possible. Anyway there's some free and open source that you can used so even if you didn't bring your laptop you can still access it using your phone.

No one should be able to access my laptop when I am on it.

True as long as you didn't permit anyone to install something on it that they may have access. So always be wary who borrowed your laptop and even your phone.

@augusta123 yes it's weird. if ever you experience while working on your pc and suddenly a cursor move on its own that you know you didn't do it. You really need to check thoroughly your pc because someone might have access on it without you being aware.

That’s pretty creepy! My husband and I are watched by our neighbors across the street - constantly. That’s pretty creepy to me, too.

@Jehanne It’s best if you remember to fully disconnect him from now on. That would really creep me out, too.

@DianneN yeah! I did. As I don't want my teammate to suddenly fear something she shouldn't be when I'm not around or on leave.

Yes, sometimes I feel like I am being watched or monitored. Sometimes I search for something and the next hour , I see all kinds of adverts relating to my search online.
