When a famous person dies, how does it affect your viewing of their work?

I had just got through watching an episode of The Big Bang Theory when my TV changed the channel ( I sat on the remote). Airing was an episode of “Friends”, and Matthew Perry (played Chandler) was in the scene. You may remember he died of an accidental overdose a couple years ago. I watched for about a minute, but I started feeling “funny” watching him so I started watching The Big Bang Theory again.
I don’t think I remember ever having a sick feeling when watching a famous person who died. Certainly not someone from the movies. Maybe because Matthew Perry was on TV once a week for years I felt like it was losing, well, a friend. Maybe because it was because he was just 54. But I haven’t watched an episode of that show since he died. And that show is on TV a lot. Maybe as time goes on I’ll quit thinking about how he died, and start to just think about the laughs he gave me once a week for years.
How does it, or does it, affect you when you watch a famous person’s work soon after they die?

When I go to the dentist, Friends is showing in the waiting room although the sound is turned right down. It's also on a screen above you're head when you're laying back in the chair. I always keep my eyes closed once I'm lying back. lol
