A treat for me

I bought Irish soda bread from Trader Joe’s this week. I’ve actually never seen it sold there. I usually buy it at the supermarket. I have to say it’s pretty good. I enjoy it with butter and cheese. Sometimes I may add some honey, but usually I don’t because it already seems sweet to me. It cost only $3.99. At the supermarket, unless it happens to be on sale, it’s usually like $5.99. Seems like a good deal to me. I’m about to have some right now. And I’ll have some hot tea to go with it. Have you ever tried it before?

So the name for it is not actually Irish soda bread, just soda bread? I never thought to have it with soup.

@Ineeddentures Irish soda bread is what I took a picture of. Is soda bread where you are the same?

I love this type of bread, and make it sometimes for a treat. Delicious toasted with a bit of butter. My neighbor went to Trader Joe's about 2 weeks ago while she was out of town with her daughter. She brought us a loaf of what you have in the picture, for a surprise. It was very good, we enjoyed it a lot.

I never tried toasting it. Not a bad idea. I wish I had some cold milk to go with it.

@MarieCoyle I prefer fresh soft bread, but I won’t say no toasted bread. Just as long as it’s not too charred.

@lovebuglena To toast any breads seem to make them taste even better, at least it does for me.

I like soda bread. My BIL sometimes makes it in his bread maker. It's really good.

I've never had it. I'm not a big bread person except for bagels.

I don’t know if they sell it all year long or not, but I usually buy it around St. Patrick’s Day.

I’ve made it before. It’s fairly easy to make.

I don’t consider myself a baker at all. I don’t know if I’d be able to do this.
